Forsgren Associates, newly acquired Apex Company, seeks a Principal Engineer in Boise to lead infrastructure projects, mentor teams, and strengthen client partnerships across the western U.S. You will guide design, planning, bidding, and construction efforts while shaping the firm’s future through strategic planning and staff development.

You will build trusted client relationships, oversee budgets and schedules, and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer registration.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and building client relationships.
• Project management experience including proposals, scopes, budgets and execution.
• Commitment to mentoring staff and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operational oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and technical staff across infrastructure projects from planning to construction.
• Solve complex client challenges with practical engineering solutions.
• Mentor staff and create growth opportunities for the team.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify new opportunities through engagement and proposals.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, technical quality, workload, and execution.
• Partner with division leadership on strategic planning and client management.
• Contribute to talent development and long-term organizational strength.
• Guide Boise office operations and profitability within the western U.S.
