Job summary

Forsgren Associates, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, now part of Apex, seeks a Principal Engineer to lead and shape major infrastructure projects across the western U.S.

You will combine technical leadership with client partnership, mentor staff, and help drive the firm's growth while preserving local leadership and relationships. You will oversee planning, design, bidding, and construction, manage budgets and schedules, and build trusted client relationships to identify new opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer registration.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and fostering client relationships.
• Project management experience, including proposals, scopes, budgets, and execution.
• Commitment to mentoring staff and developing high performing teams.
• Experience with strategic planning and client development.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal judgement.

Responsibilities

• Play a central role in talent development, succession planning, and the long term strength of the organization.
• Help refine and execute the firm's strategy and growth plan while guiding the day to day operations and profitability of the Boise office.

What You Bring

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer registration
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
• A record of leading multidisciplinary project teams and building strong client relationships.
• Project management experience, including proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful project execution.
