Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to join our innovation efforts as a Principal Chemist within the Global Micro-E RD&E team based in Naperville, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for driving projects, executing experiments to enable new product and platform development in partnership with Marketing and the Sales Team. We are seeking candidates who have a desire for collaboration and teamwork, are self-motivated, have good communication skills, and are creative problem solvers. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop differentiated products that solve challenging problems for our Microelectronics customers.

What You Will Do

1. Develop innovative chemistries and technologies for the Microelectronics Industry, focusing on process water and wastewater treatment.
2. Engage with customers, sales engineers, and marketing teams to translate industry challenges into research platforms.
3. Collaborate with researchers and field technical consultants to deploy new innovations in field applications.
4. Lead projects from ideation through validation and commercialization, working with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline with Industrial R&D experience; or
• MS in Chemistry or related field with 3 years of Industrial R&D experience.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 20%.
• Note: Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing chemical technologies for process and wastewater in the Microelectronics Industry.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with membrane systems and contaminant removal, including lab evaluations and industrial applications.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $83,600 - $125,400. Compensation depends on experience, education, training, and location. We adhere to all wage and overtime laws.
