Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Lead Chemist to join the Mining & Mineral Processing RD&E team in Naperville, Illinois. As a Lead Chemist, you will develop new innovations and lead broader platforms in mineral flotation, collaborating with scientists and engineers to solve clients' challenges in the mining industry.

What You Will Do

1. Engage with customers, sales engineers, and marketing teams to translate industry challenges into research platforms.
2. Develop innovative chemistries for mineral processing, especially for alumina, copper, lithium, and phosphate segments.
3. Collaborate with researchers and field technicians to deploy innovations in field applications.
4. Lead projects from prospecting to validation and commercialization, working with multiple functions.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS Degree in Chemistry, Mineral Processing Engineering, or related field with 6 years of R&D experience; or
• MS Degree in Chemistry, Mineral Processing Engineering, or related field with 4 years of R&D experience; or
• PhD Degree in Chemistry, Mineral Processing Engineering, or related field with 2 years of R&D experience.
• Experience in developing chemical technologies for industrial applications, including mining, water treatment, or oil and gas, leveraging chemical properties and structures for commercial solutions.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading research projects involving surface modification, flotation, scale control, or material handling.
• Independent work experience and teamwork in research settings.
• Strong communication skills, including public speaking and meeting leadership.

Compensation and Benefits
