Job summary

MKS, Inc. is seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst to partner with business and IT teams, gathering BI requirements, mapping data, and creating report/dashboard wireframes.

You will analyze source data, identify gaps, and work with cross-functional teams to implement high-quality BI solutions under the Data Warehouse and BI Reporting leadership. You will lead requirements definition, BRDs/FSDs, testing (including UAT), and drive data integrity and end-user training to maximize BI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of IT, systems/data analysis, and SAP data warehouse experience.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL with SQL data analysis.
• Experience with SAP BW architectures (BW 7.x, BW on HANA, BW/4HANA).
• Experience with SAP Datasphere or cloud data warehouse solutions desired.
• Proficiency with reporting/visualization tools: SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau.
• Knowledge of Sales & Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, MM, and Finance (FICO) in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements, converting business needs into functional specs and user stories.
• Design, develop, test, and implement data and reporting solutions to support enterprise BI initiatives.
• Lead BRDs and FSDs, secure stakeholder alignment and approval.
• Collaborate with PMs, architects, and tech teams to define roadmaps, delivery plans, and reporting strategies.
• Lead testing activities, coordinate UAT, and manage issue resolution for successful deployments.
• Serve as SME for reporting/analytics, troubleshoot data issues, validate data integrity, and deliver end-user training.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Partnering with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements, translating business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and technical report designs.
• Designing, developing, testing, and implementing data and reporting solutions that support enterprise-wide business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
• Leading requirements definition, business process analysis, and documentation efforts, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), while obtaining stakeholder alignment and approval.
• Collaborating with project managers, architects, and technical teams to define solution roadmaps, delivery plans, and reporting strategies that align with organizational objectives.
• Leading testing activities, including integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), documenting test plans, managing issue resolution, and ensuring successful solution deployment.
• Serving as a subject matter expert for reporting and analytics solutions by troubleshooting data and reporting issues, validating data integrity, improving business processes, and delivering end-user training to drive adoption of BI capabilities.

Skills You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, systems/data analysis, and SAP data warehouse environments.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse and ETL processes with ability to write SQL queries to analyze data; Experience working with SAP BW, SAP BW on HANA, SAP ECC, ORACLE or other major ERP systems.
• Experience working with Enterprise data warehouse platforms such as SAP BW architectures (BW 7.x, or BW on HANA, or BW/4HANA).
• Experience in SAP Datasphere or experience in Cloud based data warehouse solutions is desired.
• Proficiency with reporting and visualization tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Understanding of key business processes, including Sales & Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Materials Management, and Finance (FICO) within a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle incident resolution with limited documentation
