Job summary

MKS, Inc. is seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst in the United States to partner with business and IT to drive BI reporting requires extensive SAP data warehousing experience and strong SQL/data analysis skills.

You will lead requirements, design data solutions, and guide end-to-end BI implementations, working with cross-functional teams to align with organizational goals and drive adoption of BI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 8+ years in IT, systems/data analysis, and SAP data warehouse environments.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse and ETL processes; ability to write SQL queries.
• Experience with SAP BW architectures (BW 7.x, BW on HANA, BW/4HANA).
• Experience with SAP Datasphere or cloud-based data warehouse solutions.
• Proficiency with BI/reporting tools (SAP BO, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of Sales & Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, MM, and Finance in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements; translate into functional specs and user stories.
• Design, develop, test, and implement data and reporting solutions for enterprise BI initiatives.
• Lead BRD/FSD documentation and stakeholder alignment.
• Collaborate with PMs, architects, and tech teams to define roadmaps and reporting strategies.
• Lead testing activities including integration testing and UAT; manage issues and deployments.
• Serve as SME for reporting/analytics; troubleshoot data issues and drive end-user training.

As a Principal Business Systems Analyst at MKS, Inc. you will partner with business and IT partners to gather business intelligence reporting and analytic requirements, write functional specification documents to map data from applications, create report & dashboard wireframes, conduct detailed source data analysis, identify data gaps and work with the business and technical teams to implement high-quality BI solutions. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Manager of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Reporting.

• Partnering with business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytics requirements, translating business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and technical report designs.
• Designing, developing, testing, and implementing data and reporting solutions that support enterprise‑wide business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
• Leading requirements definition, business process analysis, and documentation efforts, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), while obtaining stakeholder alignment and approval.
• Collaborating with project managers, architects, and technical teams to define solution roadmaps, delivery plans, and reporting strategies that align with organizational objectives.
• Leading testing activities, including integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), documenting test plans, managing issue resolution, and ensuring successful solution deployment.
• Serving as a subject matter expert for reporting and analytics solutions by troubleshooting data and reporting issues, validating data integrity, improving business processes, and delivering end‑user training to drive adoption of BI capabilities.

Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

8+ years of progressive experience in IT, systems/data analysis, and SAP data warehouse environments.

Strong understanding of data warehouse and ETL processes with ability to write SQL queries to analyze data; Experience working with SAP BW, SAP BW on HANA, SAP ECC, ORACLE or other major ERP systems.

Experience working with Enterprise data warehouse platforms such as SAP BW architectures (BW 7.x, or BW on HANA, or BW/4HANA).

Experience in SAP Datasphere or experience in Cloud-based data warehouse solutions is desired.

Proficiency with reporting and visualization tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or Tableau.

Understanding of key business processes, including Sales & Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Materials Management, and Finance (FICO) within a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and handle incident resolution with limited documentation.
