About The Team

Zillow’s New Construction (NC) business is building the largest and most vibrant platform in the nation for new construction builders and home shoppers.

About The Role

The Principal Business Operations Manager will play an integral role in executing Zillow’s NC business strategy. We seek an entrepreneurial individual to address challenges in a high-growth environment. Responsibilities include owning organizational roadmap execution, communicating the NC business story, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, supporting planning and goal setting, monitoring business performance, and surfacing insights for improvement. This role involves governance, business continuity, communication cadences, organizational design, and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller, outcome-focused, quick to identify needs, and a strong partner to cross-functional leaders. You should be a strategic problem solver, excellent communicator, program manager, and highly self-directed. You will gain senior leadership exposure, focus on high-impact initiatives, and be involved in all business facets.

You will get to:

  • Use your communication and relationship skills to guide priorities and roadmaps.

  • Drive key organizational metrics and surface initiatives for NC, Zillow, and customers.
  • Facilitate and improve the rhythm of business for decision-making and performance reporting.
  • Ensure successful execution of our three-year plan across teams.
  • Collaborate with leaders to include diverse voices in planning aligned with goals.
  • Promote a culture of innovation through new processes for effective planning and decision-making.

This role is remote. U.S. employees may work from any state, with some exceptions. The salary range in certain states is $148,600–$237,400 annually, with additional equity opportunities based on experience, performance, and location.

Who you are

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in high-growth startups, SaaS, prop-tech, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • 8+ years in sales operations, business process optimization, revenue operations, or business operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation design and facilitation, with an executive presence.
  • Ability to tailor complex messages to different audiences.
  • Data-driven problem solver with proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Domo), and storytelling with data.
  • Strong project and program management skills, leading end-to-end execution.
  • Exceptional influencing and stakeholder alignment abilities.
  • Self-starter thriving in fast-paced environments with autonomy and action bias.
  • Strong business acumen and first-principles thinking.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and soft skills to match.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience is acceptable for liberal arts majors.
Nice to Haves:
  • PMP or similar certification.
  • MBA or MS in Operations Management.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and real estate technology.
