Job summary

Horizon3.ai is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Enterprise Platform team. You will set technical direction for core services powering NodeZero’s experiences, focusing on licensing, onboarding, notifications, and MSP/MSSP workflows.

You’ll guide architecture across teams, mentor leaders, and contribute hands-on to critical systems, ensuring security, reliability, and scale in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Proven backend ownership of production systems.
• Experience designing APIs and data models for multi-tenant SaaS.
• Leadership beyond a single team and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term technical direction for Enterprise Platform features like licensing and entitlements.
• Guide architecture for multi-tenant services with parent-child accounts and RBAC.
• Collaborate with executives to align priorities with security, reliability, and scale.
• Lead cross-team initiatives from problem to durable solutions with clear design principles.
• Stay involved through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on contributions.
• Improve observability, testing, rollout practices and incident learning.
• Balance product delivery with operational support and on-call health.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop reusable technical guidance.
• Communicate architecture and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
