Job summary

CVector is seeking a Principal backend engineer to evolve our time-series data systems and AI-assisted analytics, powering industrial energy workflows from our New York City office. You will own the backend platform, drive major migrations, and shape architecture across AI systems, databases, and distributed backend services.

Qualifications

• A decade or more of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Built and maintained multiple generations of distributed systems.
• Tracking the latest developments in agentic system design and AI-enabled platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the backend platform, time-series data systems, and AI-assisted analytics.
• Build and operate cloud infrastructure and data ingestion pipelines powering customer-facing apps and internal modeling tools.
• Drive major migrations and architectural decisions to scale reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product, modeling, and frontend engineers to shape platform direction and long-term scalability.
