Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer sciences with five years' experience, or a Master's degree with two years' experience.
• 5+ years programming embedded controllers in C/C++ or PLC languages (Structured Text).
• 5+ years software testing experience, preferably in vehicle systems.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, IEC 61508 safety standards.
• Willingness to travel 10-20% and work with version control and peer review processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed requirements and system architecture for embedded software.
• Create comprehensive test plans to verify safety and reliability.
• Test across simulation and real-world platforms; may travel to test facilities.
• Communicate with suppliers and customers on technical topics.
• Develop and peer-review software; follow CMMI and safety processes.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety and reliability; prepare proposals and reports.
• Manage development of systems of moderate complexity, possibly multiple systems.
