Principal Audio Scientist — Robotic Hearing & Speech AI

Amazon; New York (NY); Vor Ort; USD 219.000 - 296.000; Vollzeit

Zusammenfassung

Fauna Robotics is hiring a Principal Audio Scientist to be the technical authority on how our robots hear. You will design, prototype, and ship the hardest algorithms in the robot's audio system, and set the audio architecture that other engineers build on, shaping hardware decisions across robot generations.

You will mentor engineers, influence microphone array design, and present audio tradeoffs to senior leadership.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or equivalent with extensive research experience in audio or acoustics.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across geographies.

Aufgaben

• Set long-range scientific roadmap and architecture for robot audio system.
• Design suppression of robot-generated noise from motors and vibration.
• Design echo cancellation for robot voice so interruptions are natural.
• Develop multi-microphone processing robust to movement and noise.
• Make on-robot listening decisions considering wake word and speech direction.
• Influence microphone/speaker placement and enclosure acoustics with cross-functional teams.
• Define data collection/evaluation methods to validate audio performance.
• Present audio tradeoffs to senior leadership and partner teams.
• Mentor scientists and engineers to raise the scientific bar.
