Job summary

Oracle is hiring a Principal Applied Scientist in the OCI Generative AI Science team to architect, build, and deploy cutting-edge AI models at enterprise scale. You will collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers to deliver Generative AI, Data Agent, and Analytics solutions for large-scale customers.

You will lead research efforts, publish findings, and mentor junior scientists while shaping Oracle's Generative AI strategy and productization across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• PhD and 2+ years relevant experience in CS/AI focused on LLM, Agent, Analytics.
• Strong publication record, including as lead author, in top-tier AI/LLM/Analytics venues.
• Extensive experience in NLP, LLM, VLM, Retrieval, Enrichment and Analytics.
• Proven track record of leading R&D projects.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms and architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research and Development: conduct in-depth research on Generative AI and Data Analytics, with focus on LLMs and related approaches.
• AI Data and Agent Development: design, develop, and train state-of-the-art LLM models and Agents.
• Team Leadership: provide technical leadership and mentor junior scientists.
• Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams to deploy Generative AI capabilities.
• Innovation: identify new opportunities and explore emerging technologies for unstructured and structured data.
• Stay Updated: maintain a deep understanding of industry trends.
