Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to shape the next generation of AI-driven development tools. You will partner with world-class scientists and engineers on the Kiro LLM-Training team to build efficient coding agents used by millions of developers.

You’ll lead agentic RL research, collaborate with customers to deploy production systems, and publish your breakthroughs at top ML conferences, while advancing the state of the art in code intelligence.

Qualifications

PhD or Master’s with 10+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
5+ years of hands-on large-scale training experience.
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier conferences/journals.
Experience programming in C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

Push the boundaries of reinforcement learning and post-training methodologies for large language models specialized in code intelligence.
Invent and implement state-of-the-art agentic RL training recipes that operate at unprecedented Amazon scale.
Deploy products that impact developers’ daily workflows worldwide.
Collaborate with customers to translate research into production systems.
Present work at premier ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
