Job summary

Honda is seeking an Applications Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership for manufacturing systems, API architectures, and digital transformation across development and manufacturing IT environments at our site.

The role drives standards for APIs, containerization with OpenShift, security, and AI integration, mentoring teams and delivering reusable solutions across product, architecture, and security units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field as listed.
• 8+ years IT or software engineering, with 3+ years in technical leadership.
• Experience in enterprise integration, API architecture, or OpenShift.
• Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
• Budgeting, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise interface strategy and digital integration standards, including APIs and AI-enabled solutions.
• Drive OpenShift adoption, CI/CD practices, and secure deployment patterns.
• Define security standards including authentication, data protection, and AI governance.
• Develop scalable AI integration approaches and model-serving pipelines.
• Guide streaming and event-driven architectures, optimize performance and cost.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, infra, vendors, and product teams.
