Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise seeks a Senior Principal AI & Machine Learning Engineer to drive design, development, and deployment of AI/ML applications from Spring, Texas. This onsite role requires hands-on leadership, mentoring a team of AI engineers, and delivering scalable solutions across production environments.

You will work with Kubernetes, MLOps tools, and cloud AI services (Azure/AWS/GCP), applying governance and security best practices to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering with a focus on AI/ML development and deployment.
• Expertise in Kubernetes—container orchestration, Helm charts, pod management, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with MLOps/AIOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, model registries, monitoring frameworks).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their AI services.
• Strong Python skills; familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitOps, Docker, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Lead and mentor development teams, drive delivery, and manage priorities.
• Experience with Agentic and GenAI frameworks and vector databases.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools for AI workloads (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Knowledge of AI security, responsible AI principles, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI applications, microservices, and APIs on Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
• Build and maintain end-to-end AI pipelines with MLOps/AIOps practices.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers; conduct code reviews and set best practices.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools/frameworks to enhance platform capabilities and productivity.
• Collaborate with business analysts and architects to align AI efforts with goals and governance.
• Create and maintain technical docs, runbooks, and SOPs.
