Stable Kernel is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to drive our Android-focused initiatives. You will design scalable native features, set standards for code health, and influence product roadmaps while collaborating with engineers and product teams.

This full-time role supports a People Before Place Hybrid model in Atlanta, with minimal travel. The compensation includes a comprehensive package and long-term growth opportunities for a seasoned engineer.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years of native Android development.
• Experience with Google Cloud and AWS.
• Familiarity with databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and web servers (Nginx) and libraries (Ktor, OkHttp, Square open source, Hilt, Koin).
• Knowledge of common architecture patterns like MVVM or MVI and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing scalable, cost-effective solutions by trading off complexity and opportunities.
• Setting standards for codebase health and promoting best practices across the organization.
• Clarifying strategic outcomes and influencing roadmaps and projects.
• Identifying and driving improvements in customers' end-to-end experience.
• Estimating work for new business and coaching others in estimation best practices.
• Coordinating across the company and mentoring teams.
• Translating customer and business needs into projects and simplifying high-complexity situations.
• Leading projects and setting strategic direction for areas of technology.
