Job summary

Slickdeals is seeking a highly experienced Senior Android Engineer to lead the Android platform’s technical vision and delivery. You will guide architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, iOS, Backend, and other teams to ensure a fast, reliable mobile experience.

In this hybrid role based in San Mateo, you will drive long-term roadmap, optimize performance, and champion best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin (Java also valued).
• Proven senior-level engineer driving architecture decisions on large-scale apps.
• Strong command of modern Android frameworks and patterns (Jetpack/AndroidX, Architecture Components).
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and asynchronous programming (Coroutines/Flow).
• Proficient with DI (Hilt/Dagger) and performance profiling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and deliver high-quality Android features using Kotlin (and Java when needed).
• Build robust integrations with backend services, including data handling and caching strategies.
• Write unit, functional, and automated tests to maintain app stability.
• Lead technical decisions, code reviews, and architecture reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
