Vertex is seeking a Principal Business Analyst in Cell & Gene Therapy Commercial Technology to join the Data, Technology and Engineering (DTE) team. You will partner with commercial stakeholders and technology teams to define business needs, improve processes, and enable scalable digital capabilities supporting patient journeys across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
Significant experience in business analysis and product delivery within regulated industries.
Experience supporting commercial functions and technology platforms in life sciences.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
Experience with automation, AI-enabled initiatives, and digital transformation.
Experience across the system/product delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Partner with Commercial, Cell & Gene Therapy, and Technology stakeholders to understand priorities and challenges.
Lead requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design for commercial technology initiatives.
Translate business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, maps, and rules.
Support technology initiatives across patient services, order management, analytics, and data integration.
Define and deliver AI and automation use cases aligned to business priorities.
Analyze current and future state processes for standardization and optimization.
Coordinate cross-functional workshops to align stakeholders on priorities and outcomes.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, developers, and data teams to ensure alignment with standards.
Drive business readiness activities including testing, training, and change management.
Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are integrated into solutions.
Create and maintain high-quality documentation and traceability artifacts.
Use data and metrics to evaluate solution effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Advance best practices across the commercial technology organization.
