Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Principal Business Analyst, Cell & Gene Therapy Commercial Technology to join the Data, Technology and Engineering team. You will shape technology solutions for a regulated biopharma commercial operation, partnering with stakeholders to define needs, map processes, and enable scalable digital capabilities across platforms and data ecosystems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
Significant experience in business analysis, product delivery, process improvement, or related roles in regulated industries.
Experience supporting commercial business functions and technology platforms, preferably in life sciences.
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
Strong experience eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing requirements.
Ability to analyze and improve business processes and translate them into tech-enabled solutions.
Experience supporting automation, AI-enabled, or digital transformation initiatives.
Experience across the full system delivery lifecycle: planning, requirements, testing, implementation, post-go-live.

Responsibilities

Partner with Commercial, Cell & Gene Therapy, and Technology stakeholders to understand strategies and challenges.
Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution design for complex initiatives.
Translate needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and process maps.
Support initiatives across patient services, order management, analytics, and data integration.
Define and deliver AI and automation use cases aligned to priorities.
Analyze current and future processes to identify automation and standardization opportunities.
Facilitate workshops to align stakeholders on priorities and outcomes.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, developers, and data teams to ensure alignment.
Drive business readiness including testing support, training, and change management.
Ensure compliance, privacy, legal, and promotional requirements are met.
Develop and maintain documentation: BRD, flows, use cases, impact assessments, traceability.
Use data and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvement.
Contribute to BA best practices across the organization.
