Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Airframe Structural Design Engineer (Level 3) or Sr. Principal (Level 4) to join our team in Melbourne, FL.

You will design primary and secondary metal and composite aircraft structures, lead design efforts on IPTs, mentor engineers, and develop advanced solutions for complex problems. Applicants should have a STEM degree with required years of experience, and the ability to obtain US Secret clearance; NX/Teamcenter experience is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years' experience for Level 3.
• Bachelor's in STEM with 8+ years' experience for Level 4.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret clearance.
• Experience designing primary/secondary metallic or composite aircraft parts.

Responsibilities

• Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic and/or composite materials.
• Lead IPT discussions with leadership, suppliers, customers, and other disciplines to develop engineering design solutions.
• Collaborate with analysis, manufacturing, materials and processes, and other stakeholders to produce flight-weight structures.
• Apply GD&T and Model Based Engineering (MBE) to airframe layouts and engineering definitions.
• Mentor junior engineers and document best practices.
