Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Technical Resource Specialist within the GEnx Powerplant eEngineering Team to provide expert engineering support across aircraft systems. You will mentor engineers, disposition complex issues, and develop procedures for repairs, inspections and modifications to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 5 years in an airline environment, with preferred advanced degrees and Lean Six Sigma credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• 5 years of job related experience in an airline environment.
• Master's Degree in Engineering preferred.
• 10 years of experience in an airline environment preferred.
• Expert knowledge of specific airplane systems and assemblies is desirable.
• Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) is a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Senior Engineering Manager in assigning, supporting, training, mentoring and reviewing activities of Engineers.
• Utilizes high levels of technical expertise and practical experience to disposition highly complex technical concerns.
• Develops customized procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing and other maintenance actions.
• Investigates aircraft/component problems which may cause delays or cancellations and determines appropriate corrective actions.
• Develops action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects and pursues final dispositions.
• Maintains knowledge of current regulations and ensures compliance with applicable requirements.
• Continuously increases technical expertise and improves communications and time management.
• Develops procedures and criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing and other maintenance actions.
• Monitors daily operations to identify and resolve items impacting aircraft operations.
