Job summary

KellyMitchell is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Security Harness Engineering team in Round Rock, TX. This onsite, hands-on role builds AI-powered tooling that secures and validates code produced by AI coding assistants and agents.

The ideal candidate has shipped agentic AI systems, can own the full delivery lifecycle, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with IT leadership to set requirements and trade-offs. This is a 52-week onsite contract with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Proficient in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Go.
Experience deploying AI-based solutions in production with measurable impact.
Hands-on with AI/LLM development: agentic systems, context engineering, and token budgeting.
Strong software architecture and API design skills.
Experience integrating multiple systems and platforms (REST/GraphQL, CI/CD, cloud).
Ability to own the full delivery lifecycle independently.
Excellent communication with technical and business audiences.
Knowledge of secure development practices and enterprise security/compliance needs.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI-powered capabilities across the SDLC.
Develop agent tooling with automated security checks.
Integrate with enterprise systems via APIs and webhooks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and trade-offs.
Apply architecture and systems design best practices for security and observability.
Mentor junior developers and act as SME.
Lead moderate to high-budget projects and manage milestones.
