Job summary

Fidelity's Enterprise Technology AI CoE seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead and shape production AI across NLP, speech analytics, and generative models.

You will mentor engineers, partner with business teams, design scalable ML workflows on cloud platforms, and drive architectural decisions while delivering measurable business value.

This role emphasizes hands-on coding, model deployment, and clear communication of complex topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent in CS/ML/DS or related field.
• Experience deploying AI/ML models in production with MLOps practices.
• Expertise in NLP and conversational analytics.
• Proficient in Python and ML libraries (PyTorch, transformers).
• Experience with cloud workflows (AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Athena, Snowflake).
• Knowledge of RAG pipelines and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Leadership: mentoring, reviews, architectural decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI capabilities and services for Fidelity's CoE.
• Mentor engineers and drive standard processes across NLP and AI model development.
• Collaborate with business partners to deliver scalable solutions.
• Architect production-grade pipelines with monitoring and CI/CD.
• Lead research-to-production translation and documentation.
