Job summary

Fitch is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead Generative AI, ML, and data science initiatives in New York or Chicago. You will build and deploy GenAI solutions, mentor teams, and drive AI governance across enterprise use cases.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product squads, cutting-edge techniques in NLP and deep learning, and delivering measurable business impact in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data science with a focus on generative AI, deep learning, NLP, and large language models.
• Proven track record deploying deep learning and NLP models in real-world applications.
• Experience building Gen AI frameworks and finetuning LLMs.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Strong NLP knowledge and experience with large language models like GPT, BERT, etc.
• Knowledge of common ML algorithms and modeling approaches.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development and research projects focused on generative AI, deep learning, ML, NLP, and LLMs.
• Design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art ML models leveraging DL, NLP, and computer vision techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and integrate solutions into processes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and researchers; foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay up to date with AI advancements and guide adoption across the organization.
