Extreme Networks, Inc. is seeking an AI Principal Software Systems Engineer to help shape the future of intelligent networking.

You will design and lead scalable real-time data and AI platforms, drive architectural strategies, and mentor a team of engineers across distributed systems and cloud-native services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience across the software development lifecycle including architecture, design, coding, reviews, testing, deployment and production operations.
• 10+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, Go, or C++.
• 3+ years leading the design and architecture of large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience in real-time microservices, stream processing, distributed data platforms, AI or agentic systems, network telemetry, or large-scale analytics.

• Define and drive an innovative technical vision across products and platforms (intelligent networking, distributed systems, real-time data processing, agentic AI, and ML).
• Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Design and build high-performance, production-ready services for real-time data and AI platforms, including pipelines and microservices.
• Mentor engineers, set technical direction, and foster a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.
• Uphold high standards of technical rigor, security, observability, and operational readiness.
