Job summary

Veeva Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help build our next major AI-driven platform for life sciences, shaping safety, regulatory, and clinical development. You’ll join as a founding member, influence codebase, and help grow an AI-first engineering organization.

Within your first year you will lead design with product teams, contribute production-grade Python services, and mentor engineers while accelerating customer value at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of proven software development experience, with production-grade Python development
• Extensive experience developing high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications
• Proven track record architecting and building high-volume systems
• Hands-on development experience with Python, Git, FastAPI, and Pydantic
• Fast-paced, startup environment; strong adaptability and collaboration
• Proven ability to mentor and elevate team performance
• Strong work ethic and integrity; aligns with Veeva's PBC values
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Unrestricted right to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Full feature ownership from design to deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with Product Management and Development on technical design and problem-solving
• Rapidly analyze complex problems to accelerate path to robust solutions
• Develop and promote engineering best practices and coding standards, including AI-assisted engineering
• Provide comprehensive code reviews for engineers of all experience levels
• Mentor engineering talent and build team capability
