Job summary

Teradata is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead innovation in agentic AI systems within the Teradata AI Studio and Enterprise Vector Store family. You will architect production-grade AI agents, design secure and observable platforms, and drive multi-agent coordination at scale.

You will collaborate with AI researchers, platform engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and measurable AI capabilities across Teradata Cloud and on-premises environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• A genuine excitement for AI and large language models (LLMs) is a significant advantage.
• 8+ years of experience in software architecture, backend systems, or AI infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of autonomous agent frameworks and AI orchestration models.
• Experience with agent management, memory, planning loops, and secure deployment at scale.
• Proficiency with cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, and secure design.

Responsibilities

• Architect foundational components for production-grade AI systems, from agent frameworks to pipelines.
• Design and implement secure, scalable AI agents with observability and accountability.
• Lead multi-agent coordination, memory/context management, and extensibility frameworks.
• Define technical roadmap for agent management, discovery, provisioning, and orchestration.
• Collaborate with product, platform teams, and researchers to deploy agentic capabilities.
• Ensure safe-by-design deployments with governance, guardrails, and access controls.
