Job summary

Cotality is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of complex software systems. This senior role provides technical leadership, drives engineering excellence, and mentors teams across the organization.

You will own AI-native enablement initiatives, build scalable tooling, define AI workflows, and ensure adoption of best practices across the full SDLC—from requirements to delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical initiatives across teams.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle across requirements to deployment.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable systems across applications, platforms, or internal tooling.
• Proficiency across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and DevOps as needed.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (GitHub Copilot, LLM APIs, agent frameworks).
• Excellent communication and architectural leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-native transformation initiatives across engineering teams end-to-end.
• Serve as a senior enablement resource writing skills, context files, and AI workflow configurations.
• Own enablement lifecycle: readiness assessments, AGENTS.md, skill architecture, adoption at scale.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted SDLC practices and architect reusable patterns.
• Architect reusable enablement patterns and reference implementations across the organization.
• Lead development of internal AI tooling and platforms: SDKs, integrations, automation frameworks.
• Bridge platform capabilities with team needs and feedback, resolving friction.
• Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, and hands-on pairing to raise team output.
• Oversee the full SDLC from requirements to deployment and delivery.
