Job summary

SAIC in Reston, VA seeks an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Systems Engineer to support USG programs. You will lead acquisition efforts, evaluate AI/ML concepts, and contribute to life-cycle development and R&D of advanced AI/ML capabilities for space and ground systems.

Role requires active TS/SCI clearance with poly, 9+ years in STEM, and strong communication and analytical skills. The position integrates agile SAFe practices and government staff collaboration.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math with 9+ years of relevant work experience or 7+ years with a master’s degree.
• Acquisition support experience of 5+ years.
• AI/ML experience.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
• Proficient with Jira and Confluence.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop program acquisition packages (SOW, J&A, RCAP, RFI, RFP, briefs).
• Provide acquisition advisory services during evaluations for source selection.
• Evaluate advanced AI/ML concepts, systems, architectures for space and ground systems.
• Support SAFe Agile processes (PI planning, epics, features, demos).
• Analyze alternatives to optimize technical, cost, and schedule performance.
• Provide life-cycle support from concept to deployment.
• Support risk, schedule, and technical performance management.
• Prepare briefings and reports presenting analysis and recommendations.
• Assess white papers and vendor marketing materials.
