Job summary

Murata Electronics is seeking a Principal Engineer specializing in AI and ML to lead architecture and hands-on development for medical device software. You will define the technical direction for AI/ML technologies and mentor engineers, collaborating with product, clinical, quality, regulatory, and software teams to deliver impactful solutions.

You will drive the design and deployment of scalable AI pipelines, ensure regulatory compliance, and stay at the forefront of AI innovations applicable

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 7+ years or Master's with 15+ years in relevant fields.
• Experience developing deep learning models for biomedical data (images, biosignals).
• Proficiency in MLOps: experiment tracking, CI/CD for ML, model monitoring.
• Experience deploying AI/ML models in cloud and containerized environments.
• Knowledge of FDA/ISO medical device regulations and quality requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of scalable AI platforms and ML systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to AI/ML engineers.
• Lead architectural reviews for AI-enabled products and guide tech direction.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech to maintain competitive advantage.
• Collaborate with product, clinical, quality, regulatory, and software teams on roadmaps.
• Integrate AI/ML models into software frameworks ensuring reliable medical devices.
• Develop ML algorithms for diagnostic and predictive capabilities from medical data.
• Build scalable AI/ML pipelines from research to production with reproducibility and reliability.
• Develop and optimize deep learning models for biomedical signals and images.
• Validate models for robustness, interpretability, and regulatory compliance.
