Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI capabilities, from prototyping to production in a regulated medical-device context. You will lead hands-on work on AI/ML models and agents on the MIA stack, and establish reusable patterns while guiding others through code reviews and architecture decisions.

You will collaborate with Product and AI teams, integrate with enterprise systems (Salesforce, SAP, IAM), and ensure safety, privacy, and auditability across deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML or related field.
• Experience delivering LLM-powered systems to production, not just prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Prototype AI/ML models and agents against real business problems.
• Take AI/ML deployments to production with reliable, auditable patterns.
• Integrate models and agents into enterprise systems (APIs, IAM, data pipelines).
• Define reusable patterns for agent design, tool-calling, and evaluation harnesses.
• Communicate trade-offs and monitor deployed solutions for business value.
• Work in a regulated medical-device context with auditability requirements.
