Job summary

Slalom is seeking an AI/ML Architect at the Principal level in the New York area to design and deliver production-grade AI systems that span data platforms, retrieval, and agentic workflows across cloud providers. You will lead cross-functional delivery teams and shape client engagements with pragmatic, secure architectures.

Expected to drive AI strategy, governance, and responsible AI practices while mentoring junior staff and advancing AI roadmaps that deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Production ML/AI solutions design and deployment experience.
• Experience leading client-facing technical engagements.
• GenAI patterns including advanced RAG and agentic AI.
• Strong Python and cloud platform experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect enterprise-scale AI systems spanning data products, retrieval pipelines, model orchestration, agentic workflows, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, optimization, and lifecycle management.
• Design secure, scalable, cloud-native and hybrid architectures across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud with modern AI platform services.
• Lead applied AI solution design across generative AI, agentic AI, multimodal AI, and knowledge-use cases.
• Enable production GenAI adoption with tool calling, memory patterns, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Define AI evaluation, observability, and reliability patterns including tracing and latency monitoring.
