Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal AI Software Engineer to join our Research & Advanced Design team onsite in El Segundo or Rancho Bernardo, CA. You will design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art AI/ML applications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires advanced AI/ML experience, strong software engineering practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment with a U.S. government clearance.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or STEM with 5 years’ experience or Master’s with 3 years’ experience.
Experience with AI models and algorithms: LLMs, DNNs, embedding models, deep learning.
Experience deploying AI LLM tools and working in large codebases with multiple languages.
Ability to prototype quickly and demonstrate PoCs; strong software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, test, debug, and deploy AI/ML applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy AI/ML solutions in development and production.
Design and develop software requirements and testing environments.
