Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced prompt engineer to translate business needs into effective prompts and integrate LLM solutions across applications. You will develop, test, and refine prompts for diverse use cases while collaborating with domain experts and software teams.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in AI/ML, strong Python skills, and experience with GPT models and PyTorch. A focus on energy-related projects and a hybrid onboarding path in NY/MA is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/ML or related fields.
• Must be willing to work out of an office in Niskayuna, NY or Cambridge, MA.
• Cambridge-based resources must complete a three-month hybrid onboarding residency in Niskayuna, NY.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Master's or PhD in CS/Engineering/Data Science preferred.
• 3+ years of prompt engineering and tools like GPT/Hugging Face preferred.
• 3+ years of Python or similar AI/ML languages preferred.
• Experience with PyTorch and data processing libraries preferred.
• NLP or ML project experience or internships preferred.
• Familiarity with Git preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a team and adapt to changes.
• Understanding of traditional industry operations and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with domain experts to understand business needs and translate them into effective prompts.
• Develop, test, and refine prompts for varied use cases.
• Ensure high accuracy and relevance in generated outputs.
• Work with software developers to integrate LLM solutions into applications.
• Contribute to a scalable prompt-engineering framework across business units.
• Gather and analyze user feedback to improve prompt effectiveness.
• Track advancements in LLM technology and contribute to tool/platform selection.
• Document prompt-engineering processes, best practices, and use-case outcomes.
• Collaborate with GE Vernova businesses, the U.S. government, and technology entities on energy-focused projects.
