Job summary

BCG X, the technology arm of the Boston Consulting Group, is seeking a Principal (Forward Deployed AI Engineer) to join our rapidly growing engineering team. You’ll help build the next generation of AI solutions and partner with clients across regions and industries to design, build, and deploy innovative capabilities.

You will lead AI teams, develop thought leadership, and help shape the strategy of BCG X while collaborating with partners and managing directors to drive growth and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience architecting and deploying AI/GenAI solutions at enterprise scale.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.
• Proficient in Python and full-stack development using React, JavaScript, TypeScript with CI/CD.
• Experience with relational, non-relational and streaming data structures.
• Experience deploying production systems on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong leadership and project management skills; ability to guide non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and client-facing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics value-chain end to end from framing challenges to deploying scalable AI solutions.
• Partner with clients across regions and industries to design and deliver AI software.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership and lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.
• Shaping strategy of BCG X and collaborating with partners to drive growth and business development.
• Lead teams of AI scientists, engineers and designers and manage client engagements.
