HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the creation of AI-native applications and agentic workflows. You will write production code daily alongside AI agents, shape the engineering platform, and set patterns for how AI changes the software lifecycle.

The role demands deep hands-on expertise, architectural judgment, and the ability to mentor other engineers while collaborating with field teams to deliver trustworthy, high-performance software for real jobsites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with AI-enabled development and agentic workflows.
• Experience shipping production software on cloud-native stacks.
• Ability to mentor engineers and introduce new tools/practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build AI-native applications and agentic workflows end to end.
• Define technical patterns for agentic development, tool/integration, RAG, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Establish testing, observability, and security practices for trustworthy AI software.
• Prototype quickly and harden winners into reusable products across sites.
• Lead platform creation: repositories, CI/CD, environments, guardrails, tooling.
