Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to define the technical direction for our enterprise AI lakehouse, knowledge graph, and retrieval systems. You will remain hands-on, write production code, and drive architectural choices that affect multiple engineering, manufacturing, and mission teams.

You will own the landscape from ingestion to semantic reasoning, establishing reusable patterns, APIs, and CI/CD standards while mentoring engineers to raise the team’s bar.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software with leadership
• Delivered production LLM, RAG, or agentic AI systems end to end
• Built and operated an enterprise data platform (lakehouse)
• Full-stack depth: Python, REST/GraphQL, and AWS with IaC and CI/CD
• Passion for Blue Origin’s mission in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and roadmap for agentic AI platform
• Stay hands-on across full stack and write production code
• Design reusable capabilities via APIs and MCPs
• Set architecture direction across platform portfolio
• Mentor engineers and uphold standards
• Establish AI observability with metrics and gates
