Job summary

Medtronic seeks a Principal AI Computer Vision Engineer to accelerate model development, deployment, and adoption across the company’s manufacturing network. You will work with manufacturing, automation, quality, and process engineering teams to transform image data into actionable insights and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
• 3+ years applying AI, analytics, and computer vision in manufacturing, automation, or operations.
• 3+ years experience developing, training, and deploying computer vision models in production.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, validate, and optimize computer vision models for manufacturing applications: inspection, process monitoring, anomaly detection, segmentation and classification.
• Lead image dataset development: data collection, annotation strategies, data quality, augmentation and dataset curation.
• Partner with manufacturing sites to collect data, build datasets, and run model training.
• Support deployment of CV models through the AMI platform.
• Collaborate with integration and deployment teams to implement end-to-end VPM solutions and monitoring workflows.
• Coach and mentor site engineers on CV development, model evaluation, and AI deployment best practices.
