Job summary

Beaufort seeks a Principal Engineer to lead the design engineering process for Aircrew Flight Equipment in military applications. You will advance product innovation while ensuring safety standards and commercial goals are met, and actively mentor junior engineers within the Design Engineering team.

You will oversee system-level integration, FEA, and mechanical design, shaping roadmaps and managing complex contracts. Strong leadership and expertise in aerospace engineering are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with system-level integration and FEA.
• Background in materials science and product certification for aviation.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-tier design engineering expertise within contracts or SLAs.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing product designs and roadmap changes.
• Manage knowledge management system and ensure effective knowledge sharing.
• Address design, safety, quality, and operational issues and identify causes and solutions.
• Develop procedures and interpret regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Analyze feasibility of complex products and recommend development or retirement.
• Oversee a portfolio of change projects and report progress to leadership.
• Suggest improvements to policies, processes and practices.
• Maintain deep understanding of technology, regulations and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead the Design Engineering team.
