Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Subsystems Engineer Aeronautical / Principal Engineer Aeronautical to join our team in Palmdale, CA, on a 4/10 schedule (Mon–Thu). The role focuses on wire harness and coax cable design for air vehicles and requires a Secret clearance.

You will create and modify 3D designs, route harnesses, and support manufacturing while collaborating across teams. Opportunities to advance to Principal Engineer are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's in STEM with no years of experience.
• For Principal Engineer Aeronautical: Bachelor's in STEM with at least 5 years of relevant experience, Master's with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience.
• Experience in military aircraft wire harness and coax cable installations and supporting structure designs using 3D solid modeling.
• Current in-scope US Government Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Experience in the design of electrical wire harness and coax cable installations including routing, supporting structure, and integration into an air vehicle.
• Create and modify designs in 3D environment of details, assemblies, and installations of wire harness and coax cable routings and supports
• Execute engineering design projects on schedule.
• Support assembly line installations.
• The candidate should also have an understanding of 3D modeling, modern file management systems, GD& T, and MRB.
