Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aeronautical Engineer or Principal Aeronautical Engineer to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Palmdale, CA. This full-time on-site role requires a Secret clearance and offers a structured engineering environment with growth and cross-functional teamwork.

The responsibilities include applying engineering principles, conducting analyses, and supporting MBSE-driven architecture development in a collaborative Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, test, and evaluate systems.
• Perform trade studies, engineering analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
• Participate in Agile development activities including release planning, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Work with integrated teams of systems, software, and hardware engineers to develop solutions.
• Prepare technical presentations for management and stakeholders and communicate findings clearly.
