Job summary

Rite of Passage Brand in Maryland is seeking a Principal/Administrator II for Silver Oak Academy in Keymar. You will advise the Site Director and act as chief administrator of the Education Department to promote student growth and staff development.

The role requires Maryland Administrator’s Licenses I & II, teaching and special education certifications, and a Master’s in education. You’ll lead curriculum, budgets and supervision across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Maryland Administrator’s License I & II, Teaching Certification and Special Education Certification.
• Master’s degree in special education, school administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of staff supervisory experience.
• Experience in developing curriculum and fostering a positive workplace.
• Be able to pass a criminal background clearance, TB test and drug screen.

• Develop instructional objectives and curricula with faculty to meet school needs.

Silver Oak Academy is located on a scenic 78-acre campus surrounded by sprawling corn fields, beautiful woods full of local wildlife and foliage, a football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room, a fully equipped weight room & more), a Tech Center, and an academic building all just a short commute from Frederick, Baltimore & DC. At Silver Oak Academy, we will be providing services to high school students in a Type 1 Day School.

Pay: starting at $90,000 depending on experience and education.

What you will do: The Principal/Administrator II acts in an advisory capacity to the Site Director in all matters pertaining to Educational Services. He/She serves as the chief administrator of the Education Department in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member. The Principal/Administrator II ensures that instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed and involves the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program. The Principal/Administrator II reports to the Program Director and supervises staff in Education, Vocation and Resource, Information Technology and the Athletic Director.

To be considered you should:

• Must possess Maryland Administrator’s License I & II, Teaching Certification and Special Education Certification.
• Master’s degree in special education, School Administration or closely related field.
• Successful administrative experience in developing curriculum, fostering a healthy work environment to stimulate a positive and productive workplace,
• Demonstrated success in court/community/alternative education settings in all areas of program implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, work with and support staff and students in an alternative school environment. A minimum of 5 years of staff supervisory experience
  • Be able to pass a criminal background clearance check, physical exam (including TB test) and drug screen (we do not test for THC)
