Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) invites applications for an Assistant in the Infectious Disease Resource Laboratory within the Oregon National Primate Center. The role involves performing hands-on procedures with non-human primates and assisting laboratory operations.

You will collect samples, manage data, prepare reports for SOPs or grants, and support lab maintenance, scheduling, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science or related field.
• Alternate qualifications include an Associate's degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience considered.
• Experience with data entry and statistical analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on procedures with non-human primates and assist laboratory procedures.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, feces, hair, etc.) and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare reports for SOPs, publications, or grant applications.
• Maintain data and schedule procedures; ensure compliance and documentation.
• Order reagents, supplies, and equipment; maintain laboratory workspace.
• Conduct laboratory assays (CBCs, PBMC isolation, chemistry panels).
• Participate in meetings and support collaboration with team and external partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
