Job summary

Sandstone Care in Virginia is seeking a Primary Therapist to lead individual, group, and family therapy sessions and implement evidence-based treatment plans. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to empower clients navigating mental health and dual-diagnosis challenges.

The role requires a master's degree in behavioral health, an active VA license, and at least 3 years of experience with teens to young adults in detox, residential, PHP, or IOP settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral health science (Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field).
• Active VA license in good standing (LPC / LCSW / LMFT or provisional licenses).
• Minimum 3 years of experience with clients aged 13-30 in detox, residential, PHP, and/or IOP settings.
• Background check including criminal records and motor vehicle reports.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based modalities tailored to clients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive treatment plans with clients, families, and clinical team.
• Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with standards.
• Participate in utilization reviews and discussions on medical necessity with insurers.
• Coordinate with families to align on treatment goals and progress.
• Contribute to program development and family programming.
