Job summary

A leading national substance abuse organization located in Philadelphia is seeking a Primary Therapist for its drug and alcohol detox programs. The successful candidate will conduct patient intakes, assessments, individual and group sessions, and provide case management, all while ensuring compassionate care. An Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field and clinical experience are preferred. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and various employee benefits available.

Primary Therapist Duties & Responsibilities

• New patient intake and orientation
• Conducts initial assessment of patient problems and needs and reports to clinical team to initiate treatment planning
• Conducts individual sessions
• Facilitates groups with patients
• Addresses patient’s concerns and helps eliminate possibility of AMA
• Provides Case Management
• Documentation in patient medical record

Primary Therapist Requirements

• Associate’s degree or above in Human Services or related
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred, preferably in a detox and/or residential setting
• Experience conducting group sessions
• Flexibility and willingness are great attributes

Primary Therapist Schedule

• Full Time
• 9:00am-6:00pm
• Must be open to one weekend shift per week

Counselor Compensation

Hourly rate competitive with experience and location
