Job summary

Newport Healthcare in Kirkland, WA, is seeking a Primary Therapist for our adolescent girls residential program. You will provide individual, family, and group therapy within a collaborative clinical team, using our Attachment-Based Family Therapy framework.

The role emphasizes family liaison, risk assessments, treatment planning, and documentation, with weekly supervision and opportunities to contribute at professional meetings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field required.
  • Board registration (LMHCA, LICSWA, AMFT) or Psychologist Associate in the state; license highly preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare’s model (Attachment-Based Family Therapy).
  • Act as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring clear communication throughout treatment.
  • Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans; conduct biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to establish and monitor treatment goals, including 30-day plan reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and intervene as needed.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and supervision.
  • Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences.

What You’ll Do

At Newport Healthcare, we are dedicated to transforming lives through integrative and holistic mental health treatment. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Primary Therapist to join our team at our adolescent girls residential program in Kirkland, WA!

Role Overview

As a Primary Therapist, you will play a crucial role within our clinical team, providing meaningful therapy that makes a real difference in the lives of our clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Therapeutic Facilitation: Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare’s unique clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Family Liaison: Act as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring clear and proactive communication throughout the treatment process to enhance family involvement and support.
  • Family Orientation Coordination: Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to create a structured and supportive environment for families navigating the treatment process.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans upon admission, followed by thorough biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the treatment team to establish and monitor treatment goals, participating in regular 30-day treatment plan reviews to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain precise and up-to-date clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Crisis Intervention: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions to manage acute situations effectively.
  • Team Engagement: Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision to promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Organizational Representation: Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences, advocating for our mission and clinical practices within the broader community.

  • Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required
  • Board registered (LMHCA, LICSWA, AMFT) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed Highly Preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
