Job summary

Newport Healthcare in Kirkland, WA seeks a Primary Therapist to join our clinical team, treating adolescents in PHP/IOP programs with an integrative and holistic approach. The role involves ABFT-informed therapy, risk assessments, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, including a psychiatrist, to drive treatment goals and outcomes.

  • Board-eligible or licensed in the state: LMHCA, AMFT, LSWAIC or Psychologic Associate; licensure strongly preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.

Job description

What You’ll Do

At Newport Healthcare, we are dedicated to transforming lives through integrative and holistic mental health treatment. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Primary Therapist to join our fast‑paced clinical team, where we provide treatment at the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care for acute adolescent clients. In addition to our mental health services, we also offer primary substance‑use treatment, allowing for a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare’s unique clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT).
  • Act as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring clear and proactive communication throughout the treatment process to enhance family involvement and support.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans upon admission, followed by thorough biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary team, including a psychiatrist, to establish and monitor treatment goals. Participate in regular 30‑day treatment plan reviews to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Maintain clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions to manage acute situations effectively.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision to promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences, advocating for our mission and clinical practices within the broader community.
Additional Requirements
  • Monday‑Friday schedule with flexibility to work one evening each week until 6 PM.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in a Doctorate program from an accredited or state‑approved graduate school required.
  • Board registered LMHCA, AMFT, LSWAIC or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed Highly Preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders or trauma‑informed treatment preferred.
Free Clinical Supervision Provided

Free clinical supervision is available for this role.

Training & Certification

Free training/certification offered in EMDR, ABFT, CBT & DBT.

Compensation

Compensation for this role ranges from $70,000–$93,382 depending on education, licensure and experience. Non‑licensed therapist compensation ranges from $33.65–$42.35 an hour.
