Job summary

Newport Healthcare seeks a Primary Therapist for its young adult men’s residential program in Snohomish, WA. You will deliver individual, family, and group therapy within our integrative model, coordinate family involvement, and develop safety plans on admission.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, conduct risk assessments, document progress, and participate in team meetings and supervision to support clients' recovery journeys.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field required.
  • Board registered (LMHCA, LICSWA, AMFT) or Psychologist Associate in the state where services are provided; licensed strongly preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance use, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using our clinical model and AT F approach.
  • Act as primary clinical contact for families and ensure clear communication throughout treatment.
  • Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans on admission; complete biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to set and monitor treatment goals; participate in 30-day plan reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical records (assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries).
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision.
  • Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences.

Role Overview

As a Primary Therapist, you will play a crucial role within our clinical team, providing meaningful therapy that makes a real difference in the lives of our clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Therapeutic Facilitation: Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare’s unique clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Family Liaison: Act as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring clear and proactive communication throughout the treatment process to enhance family involvement and support.
  • Family Orientation Coordination: Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to create a structured and supportive environment for families navigating the treatment process.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans upon admission, followed by thorough biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the treatment team to establish and monitor treatment goals, participating in regular 30-day treatment plan reviews to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain precise and up-to-date clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Crisis Intervention: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions to manage acute situations effectively.
  • Team Engagement: Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision to promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Organizational Representation: Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences, advocating for our mission and clinical practices within the broader community.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required
  • Board registered (LMHCA, LICSWA, AMFT) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided required. Licensed Highly Preferred.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Compensation for a licensed therapist ranges from $76,573-$110,191 per year depending on education, licensure and experience. Non‑licensed therapist compensation ranges from $36.81-$52.98 an hour.
