The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions and work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will play an important role in creating a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities.
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required.
Encouraging confidence, independence and positive social development.
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
Have previous experience working with primary-aged children.
Be passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
Be patient, caring and adaptable in approach.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Be confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and needs.
Have experience supporting SEND pupils (desirable).
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or HLTA would be an added advantage.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
