Balfor Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher for an ongoing, full-time role in Somerset. The successful candidate will hold QTS and have experience delivering an inclusive, differentiated curriculum to support pupils with SEN.

You will create a safe, stimulating classroom, collaborate with support staff, and contribute to pupils’ academic and social development. The school offers supportive leadership, ongoing opportunities, and access to DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.

Are you a passionate and experienced Primary Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you looking for an exciting new teaching opportunity in Somerset?

Balfor Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Somerset. The successful candidate will have experience delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculum and be committed to helping pupils achieve their full academic, social and emotional potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Primary Teacher who is passionate about SEN education, inclusive teaching and supporting individual learning needs.

You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment where pupils feel confident, valued and supported. You will use creative and adaptable teaching strategies to encourage independence, build confidence and develop a genuine love of learning.

Primary Teacher Responsibilities

As a Primary School Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated Primary lessons for pupils aged 7-19.
  • Adapting lessons and teaching strategies to meet a wide range of SEN and additional learning needs.
  • Creating a safe, calm and sensory-considerate classroom environment.
  • Differentiating tasks, learning materials and assessments according to pupils' individual abilities, needs and interests.
  • Using visual supports, structured routines and sensory-friendly teaching approaches.
  • Supporting positive behaviour management and maintaining high levels of pupil engagement.
  • Setting clear, achievable and measurable learning objectives.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching approaches where necessary.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff and other professionals.
  • Promoting pupils' independence, confidence, wellbeing and personal development.
Primary Teacher Requirements

To be considered for this Primary Teacher vacancy in Somerset, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils - Essential
  • Experience planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
  • A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Adaptability and resilience when supporting pupils with a range of individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with pupils, colleagues and families.
